You should also steer clear of any foods that have a lot of citrus, that are very acidic and foods that are extremely spicy. All of these foods can irritate the sore so that it doesn' heal as fast. Stay away from lemons, oranges, apples, tomatoes and pineapple while the sore is there.

While there is no way for you to get rid of canker sores extremely fast, there are some things you can do to ease the pain associated with them so they aren' so annoying. Over the counter medications can be used to numb the gums and the area around the sore. This will help to ease the pain. You can also take an over the counter anti inflammatory like Ibuprofen to help with the pain, swelling and redness.
