Canker sores can be extremely painful and very irritating. However,
there are small things that you can do that will help you get rid of
canker sores fast.
How many times have you had a canker sore that seemed to last
forever? They are not pleasant at all. The small painful sores appear
on the inside of your mouth and can be on the inside of your cheeks,
on your tongue and even on the roof of your mouth. There is no one
reason a canker core will appear, but they can be brought on by
consuming a lot of citrusy, acidic or spicy foods. They can also come
from stress or even by nutritional problems, such as an iron
deficiency; low levels of B12, folic acid or zinc in your system can
also cause a canker sore to appear. Normally the sores are harmless,
but there are times when you should seek medical advice. If a fever
accompanies the sore, if the sore spreads and other sores appear, if
the sore lasts for three weeks or longer and sores that are unusually
big should all be seen by a doctor.
It can be hard to get rid of canker sores, but not
impossible. There are some things that you can change that will help
the sores heal faster so that you can live a pain free life again. It'
important to keep the area surrounding the sore clean. This means that
after you eat, you should brush your teeth with a soft bristled tooth
brush. Make sure that you brush the entire area around the sore to
ensure that there is no food stuck near your canker sore. You should
also steer clear of any foods that have a lot of citrus, that are very
acidic and foods that are extremely spicy. All of these foods can
irritate the sore so that it doesn' heal as fast. Stay away from
lemons, oranges, apples, tomatoes and pineapple while the sore is
there.
While there is no way for you to get rid of canker sores extremely
fast, there are some things you can do to ease the pain associated
with them so they aren' so annoying. Over the counter medications can
be used to numb the gums and the area around the sore. This will help
to ease the pain. You can also take an over the counter anti
inflammatory like Ibuprofen to help with the pain, swelling and
redness.
